Contradiction Is a Record, Not an Inconvenience

How conflicting claims remain visible until evidence supports resolution.

Preserve both sides

When two records conflict, the editorial system should retain each claim, source, date, and support level. Silently selecting the convenient version destroys information needed for review.

Resolution requires evidence

A contradiction becomes resolved only when a documented decision identifies the controlling evidence and explains why it outweighs the alternative. Until then, publication can pause or carry an explicit uncertainty notice.
